Clarke, William Edward Wesley

 

 

Born 8th September 1889 Smeaton Victoria the son of James Edward and Minnie Ann Clarke (nee Whatmore) he married Lucy Hannah Warren 1915 at Mole Creek a 26 year old farmer who embarked Melbourne 24th November 1915 on board RMS Orontes with the 12th Infantry Battalion.

 

He was serving with the 2nd Tunnelling Company when he was killed in action 14th August 1916 and is commemorated in the Anzac Cemetery  Sailly-Sur-La-Lys, France.
