Outdoor portrait of 157 Private (Pte) Charles Horace Clayton, 40th Battalion, of Dover, Tas. A bushman prior to enlistment, Pte Clayton embarked with A Company from Hobart on HMAT Berrima on 1 July 1916. On 7 June 1917 he was killed in action at Messines, Belgium, aged 23
