Clemons, Arthur John
Born Headingly Leeds England the son of George Henry Clemons he had been farming with his cousins for about 10 years when he enlisted and embarked Hobart 8th August 1916 on board “HMAT Ballarat” with the 40th Infantry Battalion.
He was appointed Lance Corporal 4th December 1916.
Lance Corporal Clemons died 6th February 1917 at the 2nd Austraian Casualty Clearing Station in France from gunshot wounds to the head and shoulders and was buried in the Trois Arbres Cemetery, Steenwerck, Nord, France.
