Cobern, Charles Melville
Born 11th June 1891 Launceston Tasmania the son of Charles Edward and Ellen Cobern (nee Bryant) and married to Beatrice Ada Lyall he embarked Hobart 1st July 1916 on board “HMAT Berrima” with the 40th Infantry Battalion.
He was killed in action 12th October 1917 in Belgium and is commemorated in the Tyne Cot Cemetery. COBERN. — Killed in action in France, on the 12th October, Charles Melville Cobern, beloved husband of Beatrice Cobern and second son of C. and E. Cobern, Patterson-street, aged 26.
