Cobern, Charles Melville

Born 11^th June 1891 Launceston Tasmania the son of Charles Edward and Ellen Cobern (nee Bryant) and married to Beatrice Ada Lyall he embarked Hobart 1^st July 1916 on board “HMAT Berrima” with the 40^th Infantry Battalion.

He was killed in action 12^th October 1917 in Belgium and is commemorated in the Tyne Cot Cemetery.

COBERN. — Killed in action in France, on the 12th October, Charles Melville Cobern, beloved husband of Beatrice Cobern and second son of C. and E. Cobern, Patterson-street, aged 26.
