Cockerill, Francis Douglas

Born 20^th September 1889 New Norfolk Tasmania to Charles Frederick and Mary Bennett Cockerill (nee Wright) a builder who departed Sydney 13^th October 1915 on board “HMAT Port Lincoln” with the 4^th Infantry Battalion.

He was killed in action in France 13^th August 1916 and is commemorated in the Rue-David Military Cemetery, Fleurbaix, France.

His younger brother, Pte Charles Cahill Cockerill was also killed in France on 12^th August 1916
