Cockerill, Francis Douglas

 

 

Born 20th September 1889 New Norfolk Tasmania to Charles Frederick and Mary Bennett Cockerill (nee Wright) a builder who departed Sydney 13th October 1915 on board “HMAT Port Lincoln” with the 4th Infantry Battalion.

He was killed in action in France 13th August 1916 and is commemorated in the Rue-David Military Cemetery, Fleurbaix, France.

 His younger brother, Pte Charles Cahill Cockerill was also killed in France on 12th August 1916
