If you could spare a few dollars to help with the running costs of hosting this website to keep it alive would be very much appreciated.

Thankyou from Gravesites of Tasmania in advance.

Colhoun, Vincent

Born Wynyard Tasmania a farmer he embarked Melbourne 29th March 1916 on board RMS Orontes with the 12th Infantry Battalion.

He was serving with the 52nd Battalion when he was killed in action 24th April 1918 and is commemorated on the Villers-Bretonneux Memorial, France.

Mr and Mrs A Colhoun, Main street, Ulverstone, received on Saturday the painful news that their son, Pte. Vincent Colhoun, had been added to the long list of those who have offered up their lives for the liberty of the Empire. Pte. V. Colhoun had been fighting for two years, and had, on a previous occasion been wounded, necessitating his detention in: hospital for several months. On his recovery, he returned to the lines, and now he is counted among those who will not come back to those who sorrow for him- Much sympathy is felt for the bereaved parents and family.
