Collins, Robert William

AKA Rice, Rice Robert James

Born England the son of Esther Collins he enlisted Hobart and embarked Victoria 17^th July 1915 on board “HMAT Orsova” with the 26^th Infantry Battalion. (he was 56 at the time of enlistment but stated at the time he was 44)

He was returning to Australia with a septic hand when he died 24^th June 1917 at sea from a cerebral thrombosis. He is commemorated on the Australian National Memorial, Villers-Bretonneux, France
