Collins, Robert William AKA Rice, Rice Robert James
Born England the son of Esther Collins he enlisted Hobart and embarked Victoria 17th July 1915 on board “HMAT Orsova” with the 26th Infantry Battalion. (he was 56 at the time of enlistment but stated at the time he was 44) He was returning to Australia with a septic hand when he died 24th June 1917 at sea from a cerebral thrombosis. He is commemorated on the Australian National Memorial, Villers-Bretonneux, France
