Combes, Alan Kingwell Yeoland
Born 21st April 1887 Kingston Tasmania the son of Alan Bracher and Emily Gertrude Combes (nee Yeoland) a surveyor he embarked Melbourne 25th October 1916 with the 12th Infantry Battalion.
He was killed in action 18th September 1918 in France and is commemorated in the Jeancourt Communal Cemetery Extension, Jeancourt, Picardie, France Mr. and Mrs. Alan Combes, Duke Street, Sandy Bay has received notification that their only son. Private Alan Kingwell Yeoland Combes, of the 12th Battalion was killed in action in France on September l8. He had been two years on active service. The Mercury 3rd October 1918
