Cossom, John Wesley

Born 2^nd July 1896 Uxbridge Tasmania the son of John and Harriet Cossom (nee Leonard) a labourer he embarked Melbourne 25^th October 1916 on board “HMAT Ulysses” with the 12^th Infantry Battalion.

He was killed in action 7^th October 1917 in Belgium and is commemorated on the Menin Gate Memorial, Ypres, West-Vlaanderen, Flanders, Belgium.

COSSOM.-Killed in action in France on October 13, 1917 Private John Wesley Cossom, youngest son of J. Cossom of "Hillwood," East Tamar (late of New Norfolk), aged 21 years. Hobart papers please copy.
