Cowen, Charles Watkin

Born 30^th August 1883 Cygnet Tasmania the son of Richard and Emma Linton Cowen (nee Challis) and married to Brittania Pregnell, a contractor he embarked Melbourne 23^rd September 1916 on board “HMAT Seang Choon” with the 40^th Infantry Battalion.

He was killed in action 23^rd July 1917 in Belgium when he was hit in the back with a bullet and is commemorated in the Kandahar Farm Cemetery.
