Cowen, Charles Watkin

 

Born 30th August 1883 Cygnet Tasmania the son of Richard and Emma Linton Cowen (nee Challis) and married to Brittania Pregnell, a contractor he embarked Melbourne 23rd September 1916 on board “HMAT Seang Choon” with the 40th Infantry Battalion.

 

He was killed in action 23rd July 1917 in Belgium when he was hit in the back with a bullet and is commemorated in the Kandahar Farm Cemetery.
