Cox, Claude Hamilton 

 

 

Born 1890 Brighton Tasmania the son of James and Emily Sophia Cox (nee Smith) a labourer he embarked Hobart 1st July 1916 on board “HMAT Berrima” with the 40th Infantry Battalion.

 

He was killed in action 4th August 1917 at Messines Belgium and is commemorated in the Kandahar Farm Cemetery

COX. -Killed in action somewhere in France August 4, 1917. Claude Hamilton, youngest son of James Cox and the late E. Cox, of Bridgewater, aged 25 years. Foremost fighting, he fell for King and Empire.
