Crockett William James

 

 

Born 24th November 1874 Bothwell Tasmania the son of William Crockett and married to Ada Bell Tyler with six children, an engine driver married and living in Newtown Sydney New South Wales when he enlisted and embarked Sydney 2nd November 1915 on board “HMAT Euripides” with the 17th Infantry Battalion

 Sgt Crockett died 4th August 1916 at the 3rd Canadian General Hospital from shell wounds and a fractured knee in France and is buried in the Boulogne Eastern Cemetery, France.

His son William Ezra Crockett (No 3725) was killed in action in France and is commemorated on the Villers-Bretonneux Memorial, France.  He was 18 years old.William Crocketts Grave
