Dale John William

 

 

 

Born Hobart the son of John and Lucy Dale (nee Miller) a 25 year old boundary rider of 157 Argyle Street, Hobart he served with the 26th Battalion and returned to Australia 23rd May 1917 after receiving a gunshot wound to the lung. He died 19th August 1919 and was buried in Cornelian Bay Cemetery.

Soldier's Sudden Death.
About 10 p.m. last night word was conveyed to the City police charge room
that a returned soldier, John William Dale(27) had dled suddenly at 9.30, While sitting in his house at 31 Warwick street.
The bodv was brought to the morgue by Detective Sergeant Oakes and an inquest will be probably opened to-day.
Deceased was married, and it is understood was severely wounded at the War. World Hobart 20th August 1919
