Davie, Gordon Raymond
Born 1897 Bothwell Tasmania to Walter George and Mary Ann Alice Davie (nee Smith), a shop assistant who embarked Melbourne 21st October 1916 on board “HMAT Port Melbourne” with the 40th Infantry Battalion. He was serving with the 12th Battalion when he was killed in action 6th October 1917 in Belgium and is commemorated on the Ypres (Menin Gate) Memorial, Belgium.
