Davis, William Walter
Born Brighton Tasmania the son of Joseph William and Mary Jane Davis of Richmond, married a bushman/mill hand he embarked Hobart Tasmania 20th October 1914 on board “HMAT Geelong” with the 12th Infantry Battalion. He served with the 1st Tasmanian Imperial Bushmen in the Boer War He died 8th May 1915 at the Deaconess Hospital from a gunshot wound to the abdomen received on the Gallipoli Peninsula and is commemorated in the Chatby Military and War Memorial Cemetery, Alexandria, Egypt.
