Davis, William Walter

Born Brighton Tasmania the son of Joseph William and Mary Jane Davis of Richmond, married a bushman/mill hand he embarked Hobart Tasmania 20^th October 1914 on board “HMAT Geelong” with the 12^th Infantry Battalion.

He served with the 1^st Tasmanian Imperial Bushmen in the Boer War

He died 8^th May 1915 at the Deaconess Hospital from a gunshot wound to the abdomen received on the Gallipoli Peninsula and is commemorated in the Chatby Military and War Memorial Cemetery, Alexandria, Egypt.
