Davis, George Edward Owen
Born 1879 Hobart Tasmania the son of Benjamin Owen and Laura Lillian Davis (nee Tatnell) and married to Ann Jane Linton and the father of four children, a confectioner who embarked Hobart 8th May 1916 on board “HMAT Seang Choon” with the 12th Infantry Battalion
He was killed in action 23rd August 1918 in France and is commemorated in the Heath Cemetery, Harbonnieres, France Mrs. G. Davis, of 175 Goulburn Street has received word that her husband, Private George Edward Davis, 12th Battalion, was killed in action on August 23. Prior to enlisting he was a member of the West Hobart Rifle Club.
