Davis Herbert Stanley

Born 24^th September 1893 Hobart Tasmania the son of Captain James and Violet Ella Davis (nee Domeney) and married to Myrtle Lily McKenzie, a 22 year old engineer he was living in Carrajung, via Boisdale, Victoria when he enlisted.

He embarked Melbourne 1^st April 1916 on board “HMAT Kanowna” with the Army Medical Corps. He was commissioned whilst overseas and later transferred to the 5^th Battalion.

He was killed in action 16^th June 1918 and like others with no known grave is commemorated on the Australian National Memorial, Villers-Bretonneux, France
