Davis Herbert Stanley
Born 24th September 1893 Hobart Tasmania the son of Captain James and Violet Ella Davis (nee Domeney) and married to Myrtle Lily McKenzie, a 22 year old engineer he was living in Carrajung, via Boisdale, Victoria when he enlisted. He embarked Melbourne 1st April 1916 on board “HMAT Kanowna” with the Army Medical Corps. He was commissioned whilst overseas and later transferred to the 5th Battalion. He was killed in action 16th June 1918 and like others with no known grave is commemorated on the Australian National Memorial, Villers-Bretonneux, France
