Eddington, Henry Bertram
Born Bagdad Tasmania the son of William Henry and Mary Eddington (nee Hyland0 a labourer he embarked Melbourne 24th November 1915 on board RMS Orontes with the 12th Infantry Battalion He died 19th August 1916 at the No 3 Casualty Clearing Station from gunshot wounds to the leg (compound fracture) and is commemorated in the Puchevillers British Cemetery, Puchevillers, Picardie, France EDDINGTON. - Died of wounds in France August 19, 1916, Henry Bertram, second beloved son of William Henry and Mary Eddington of Mangalore, aged 22 years. He gave his life for his King and country.
