Edmunds, Roy Couston

 

 

Born 26th December 1895 Launceston Tasmania the son of Walter George and Fanny Jane Edmunds (nee Fysh) a farmer living in Hawthorn Victoria when he enlisted, he embarked Brisbane 29th June 1915 on board “HMAT Aeneas” with the 26th Infantry Battalion.

 

Sgt Edmunds died 5th July 1916 in the Omer Military Hospital France from cerebro spinal meningitis and was buried in the Longuenesse (St Omer) Souvenir Cemetery, Longuenesse, Nord Pas de Calais, France

EDMUNDS.-On the 5th July in France of meningitis, Roy Couston, the dearly beloved son of Walter and Fanny Edmunds and grandson of Mrs Fysh "Hornsey," Launceston, aged 20
