Oarsman learned with regret that poor Roy Edwards of the Sandy Bay Club had made the supreme sacrifice on the Western front on March 21st last. He was a good lad, and one that club mates held a very high opinion of. He was an executive officer of the Sandy Bay club up to the time of enlisting taking a leading part in all club matters. A genial and kindly fellow and a good companion, we sorrowfully pay tribute to one whose memory will long remain amongst us The Weekly Courier 11th April 1918
