Eeles, Eustace Erol

Born 23^rd July 1890 Nile Tasmania the eldest son of George and Ada Selina Eeles (nee Williams) a farmer he embarked Hobart 1^st July 1916 on board “HMAT Berrima” with the 40^th Infantry Battalion.

He was appointed Lance Corporal 13^th October 1917 and unfortunately his family did not receive all his personal belongings as the transport ship “Barunga” was torpedoed in June 1918

He was killed in action 28^th March 1918 in France and is commemorated on the Villers-Bretonneux Memorial, Villers-Bretonneux, Picardie, France
