Eeles, Eustace Erol
Born 23rd July 1890 Nile Tasmania the eldest son of George and Ada Selina Eeles (nee Williams) a farmer he embarked Hobart 1st July 1916 on board “HMAT Berrima” with the 40th Infantry Battalion.
He was appointed Lance Corporal 13th October 1917 and unfortunately his family did not receive all his personal belongings as the transport ship “Barunga” was torpedoed in June 1918
He was killed in action 28th March 1918 in France and is commemorated on the Villers-Bretonneux Memorial, Villers-Bretonneux, Picardie, France
