Ellston, Henry Richard

 

 

Born 7th September 1879 Hobart Tasmania the son of Henry and Susan Emily Ellston (nee Fynes) and married to Lillian May Silver, a clerk he embarked Melbourne 24th August 1917 on board “HMAT Botanist” with the 12th Infantry Battalion.

 

He was killed in action 6th May1917at Lagnicourt in France when he was hit in the head by machine gun fire. He is commemorated on the Villers-Bretonneux Memorial, Villers-Bretonneux
