Emmerton, David Samuel

Born 8^th January 1879 Stanley Tasmania the last and 16^th child of William and Anne Emmerton (nee Smedley) a labourer who listed his brother Joseph Emmerton as his next of kin he embarked Melbourne 17^th July 1915 on board “HMAT Orsova” with the 26^th Infantry Battalion.

He was killed in action 29^th July 1916 at Pozieres in France and is commemorated on the Villers-Bretonneux Memorial, Villers-Bretonneux, Picardie, France.
