Enslow, Norman Augustus Jerome
Born 1890 Hobart Tasmania the son of William and Mary Anne Enslow (nee Burke) a labourer he embarked Sydney 20th August 1915 on board “HMAT Shropshire” with the 2nd Light Horse Regiment. He served at Gallipoli and was appointed Corporal 10th April 1917. He died 22nd April 1917 at the 54th Casualty Clearing Station Palestine from gunshot wounds to the thigh, foot, knees and chest and was buried in the Deir El Belah War Cemetery, Deir El Belah, Israel. Mentioned in Despatches For conspicuous gallantry in action. When acting as No 1 of Lewis gun team he displayed great courage and determination when affording covering fire for the advance of his squadron.
