Fanning, John Ritchie
Born 7th October 1892 Flinders Island Tasmania the son of John Henry and Helen Ritchie Fanning (nee Ferguson) a seaman he enlisted Victoria and embarked Sydney on board “HMAT Seang Choon” with the 13th Infantry Battalion.
His father and two other brothers also enlisted.
He was killed in action 30th April 1915 on the Gallipoli Peninsula and is commemorated on the Lone Pine Memorial, Gallipoli Peninsula, Canakkale Province, Turkey
