Fanning, John Ritchie

Born 7^th October 1892 Flinders Island Tasmania the son of John Henry and Helen Ritchie Fanning (nee Ferguson) a seaman he enlisted Victoria and embarked Sydney on board “HMAT Seang Choon” with the 13^th Infantry Battalion.

His father and two other brothers also enlisted.

He was killed in action 30^th April 1915 on the Gallipoli Peninsula and is commemorated on the Lone Pine Memorial, Gallipoli Peninsula, Canakkale Province, Turkey
