Farrell, John Phillip
Born 1897 Deloraine Tasmania the son of Phillip and Kathleen Mary Farrell (nee McGowan) he embarked Melbourne 23rd December 1916 on board RMS Orontes with the 25th Howitzer Brigade. He was serving with the 9th Battery 3rd Brigade Australian Field Artillery when he died 28th May 1918 in France at the 5th Australian Field Ambulance from shrapnel wounds to the right thigh and scalp and was buried in the Querrieu British Cemetery, France. FARRELL. - In loving memory of Driver John Phillip Farrell, of Ulverstone, Tasmania, who died of wounds, in France, on the 28th May, 1918, aged 20 years. R.I.P.
