Fleming Alfred Claude Mathew
Born 13th June 1896 Burnie the son of Robert and Mary Anne Fleming (nee Whisker) a 19 year old farm labourer he embarked with the 40th Battalion later transferring to the 51st.
He died 17th November 1917 in Belgium from shell gas poisoning and pneumonia and is buried in the Brookwood Military Cemetery Surrey England.
His brother Pte John William Whistler Fleming, 51st Battalion was killed in action, 2 May 1917.
