Flukes, Edward Clarence
He was born 1893 Upper Castra Tasmania to Benjamin and Catherine Flukes (nee Wilson) a farm labourer who embarked Melbourne 21st October 1916 on board “HMAT Port Melbourne” with the 40th Infantry Battalion. He died 10th June 1917 at the 9th Australian Field Ambulance from a gunshot wound and a fractured leg and was buried in the Strand Military Cemetery, Belgium.
