Forslund, Alfred James 

 

Born 25th May 1890 East Devonport Tasmania the son of Alfred Wilhelm and Sarah Forslund (nee Mannix) a postal assistant he embarked Brisbane 29th June 1915 on board “HMAT Aeneas” with the 26th Infantry Battalion.

 

He was killed in action 21st September 1917 in Belgium and is commemorated in the Hooge Crater Cemetery

 

His brother Arthur Henry Forslund (No 6559) died 2nd May 1918 from wounds received in the field and was buried in the  Ebblinghem Military Cemetery, France

 

FORSLUND— Killed in action on September 21 Alfred James, second dearly loved son of A. W. and S. Forslund, Thomas street, Devonport East, aged 27 years and 4 months.  His duty nobly done. Zeehan papers please copy.
