Forslund, Arthur Henry

Born 27th August 1898 East Devonport Tasmania the son of Alfred Wilhelm and Sarah Forslund (nee Mannix) a telephonist with the Devonport Post Office he embarked Melbourne 20th October 1916 on board “HMAT Port Lincoln” with the 12th Infantry Battalion.

 

He died 2nd May 1918 in France from wounds received in the field and was buried in the Ebblinghem Military Cemetery, France 

Rev. G. Rowe had the painful duty of conveying the sad news to Mr. A. Forslund, of Thomas Street, East Devonport that his son, Private Arthur Forslund, had died from wounds on May 2. This is the second son of the family who has lost his life at the front. A third son is still fighting in France.
