French, Vivian Ambrose

Born 16^th November 1894 Hagley Tasmania to Rowland Robert and Annie Elizabeth French (nee Briggs) a farmer he embarked Hobart 20^th October 1914 on board “HMAT Geelong” with the 12^th Infantry Battalion.

He was wounded with a bullet in the neck and then listed as missing in action. A board of enquiry held on the 5^th June 1916 found he had been killed in action 25^th April 1915 on the Gallipoli Peninsula. No body was recovered so he is commemorated on the Lone Pine Memorial, Gallipoli, Turkey.
