French, Vivian Ambrose
Born 16th November 1894 Hagley Tasmania to Rowland Robert and Annie Elizabeth French (nee Briggs) a farmer he embarked Hobart 20th October 1914 on board “HMAT Geelong” with the 12th Infantry Battalion. He was wounded with a bullet in the neck and then listed as missing in action. A board of enquiry held on the 5th June 1916 found he had been killed in action 25th April 1915 on the Gallipoli Peninsula. No body was recovered so he is commemorated on the Lone Pine Memorial, Gallipoli, Turkey.
