Frier, James Youle
He was born 1895 Hobart Tasmania to William and Jemima Frier (nee Davidson) a painter who embarked Sydney 24th November 1915 on board “HMAT Ceramic” with the 6th Field Company Engineers. He was serving with the 26th Battalion when he was killed in action 28th May 1918 at Dermacourt when he was fatally hit with machine gun bullets and is commemorated in the Dernancourt Communal Cemetery Extension, France.
