Gates, Harold Joseph

Born 1892 Boat Harbour Tasmania to Robert Henry and Jane Watt Gates (nee Shearer) a labourer he embarked Melbourne 5^th January 1916 on board “HMAT Afric” with the 26^th Infantry Battalion.

He died 6^th August 1916 at the 44^th Casualty Clearing Station from shrapnel wounds to the back and was buried in the Puchevillers British Cemetery, France.
