Gittus, Claude

Born 1^st April 1894 Glenora Tasmania the son of Arthur Cecil and Frances Elizabeth Gittus (nee Ahearne) a labourer he embarked Melbourne 25^th October 1916 on board “HMAT Ulysses” with the 12^th Infantry Battalion.

He was killed in action 5^th May 1917 (previously reported missing) in France and is commemorated on the Villers-Bretonneux Memorial, Villers-Bretonneux, Picardie, France
