Gittus, Kenneth James

Born 14^th November 1893 New Norfolk Tasmania the son of George and Harriet Gittus (nee Higginson) a labourer he embarked Hobart 1^st July 1916 on board “HMAT Berrima” with the 40^th Infantry Battalion.

He was serving with the 51^st Battalion when he was killed in action 2^nd April 1917 in France and is commemorated in the HAC Cemetery, Ecoust St Mein, Arras, France.

His brother Pte Leslie Albert Gittus (No 6832) was killed in action 3^rd November 1917 and is commemorated on the Menin Gate Memorial, Ypres, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium.
