Goullee, Frederick Charles
Born 14th March 1891 Launceston Tasmania the only son of Charles Eugene and Ann Goullee (nee Waud) a farmer who embarked Melbourne 8th February 1916 on board “HMAT Warilda” with the 12th Infantry Battalion. He had spent 5 years as a volunteer with the 92nd Infantry and at the time of his enlistment held the rank of platoon Sergeant. His commission was gained on the field and he acted as a transport officer and a machine gun instructor. He was serving with the 28th Battalion when he was killed in action at Morlancourt and is commemorated in the Franvillers Communal Cemetery Extension, France.
