Grachan Charles

Born George Town Tasmania and listed as a labourer. He embarked Sydney 23^rd. December 1916 on the “HMAT Demosthenes with the 26^th Infantry Battalion.

He was killed in action in Belguim 4^th October 1917

Word has been received that Private Charles Grachan, a native of George Town, has been killed in action. This young man enlisted in Queensland, and for a considerable time had been reported as missing, but definite news was recently received to the effect that he had made the supreme sacrifice.
