Grachan Charles

 

Born George Town Tasmania and listed as a labourer.  He embarked Sydney 23rd. December 1916 on the “HMAT Demosthenes with the 26th Infantry Battalion.

 

He was killed in action in Belguim 4th October 1917

Word has been received that Private Charles Grachan, a native of George Town, has been killed in action. This young man enlisted in Queensland, and for a considerable time had been reported as missing, but definite news was recently received to the effect that he had made the supreme sacrifice.
