Gray Albert George
Born 1st December 1896 Launceston the son of Edmund and Martha Gray (nee Jones) a 19 year old hotel porter he enlisted Melbourne and served with the 6th Battalion. He was killed in action 8th May 1915 on the Gallipoli Peninsula. He is commemorated on the Helles Memorial, Gallipoli, Turkey. His brother Lance Corporal Victor Roy Gray Reg no: 6016 (37th Battalion) born 13 Jan 1899 Launceston; Died Somme, France 12Aug 1918 Buried at Heath Cemetery, Harbonnieres.
