Grundy, Hedley

 

 

 

Born 6th November 1894 Deloraine Tasmania the son of Thomas Buck and Flora Amelia Grundy a labourer who listed his sister Hazel Munday as his next of kin he embarked Hobart 1st July 1916 on board “HMAT Berrima” with the 40th Infantry Battalion.

 

He was killed in action 3rd January 1917 (previously reported missing) at Armentieres in France when he was hit by a shell and is commemorated in the Cite Bonjean Military Cemetery, Armentieres, Lille, France
