Gurr, Alfred Edward
He was born Cressy Tasmania the son of Henry Gurr, a labourer who departed Hobart 28th October 1914 on board “HMAT Geelong with the 12th Infantry Battalion. A Court of Enquiry dated 5th June 1916 found he had been killed in action 25th April 1915 on the Gallipoli Peninsula and is commemorated on the Lone Pine Memorial, Gallipoli, Turkey.
