Studio portrait of 4326 Private (Pte) Lionel Haines, 12th Battalion, of Hobart, Tas. Pte Haines enlisted on 5 August 1915 and embarked aboard HMAT Afric on 5 January 1916. On 15 April 1917 he was killed in action at Langnicourt, France. His death is commemorated on the Villers Bretonneux Memorial

Pte Haines enlisted on 5 August 1915 and embarked aboard HMAT Afric on 5 January 1915. He was killed in action on 15 April 1917 at Langincourt, France. Pte Inches enlisted on 15 September 1915 and embarked aboard HMAT Afric on 5 January 1915. He returned to Australia on 9 February 1919.
