Hall, Harold Lesley

 

Born 1892 Latrobe Tasmania the son of Daniel and Emily Hall (nee Ling) a miner he embarked Brisbane 29th June 1915 on board “HMAT Aeneas” with the 26th Infantry Battalion.

 He was killed in action 2nd September 1918 in France and is commemorated in the Peronne Communal Cemetery Extension, France.

 

Regret was expressed at Penguin on Sunday when the news was received that Pte Harold Hall, youngest son of Mr. D. Hall, of Melbourne, but late of Penguin, had been killed in action on September 2. Pte. Hall had been 3 years on active service and several times been wounded. He left Gallipoli at the evacuation and was amongst the first Australians to do duty in France.
