Harper, Ernest George

Born 1896 Launceston Tasmania the son of Ernest and Alice May Harper (nee Smith) a warehouse salesman he enlisted and embarked Sydney 9^th April 1916 on board “HMAT Nestor” with the 30^th Infantry Battalion.

He was killed in action 25^th November 1917 in Belgium and is commemorated in the Birr Cross Roads Cemetery, West-Vlaanderen, Flanders, Belgium

Mrs. Harper, 25 Wardell Road, Petersham, has received news that her son, Private Ernest George Harper has been killed. He was an employee of Messrs Henry Bull and Co.
