Harrex Albert

 

He was born Ouse Tasmania, a blacksmith who enlisted at Victoria Barracks Queensland who embarked Brisbane 12th February 1915 on board “HMAT Seang Bee” with the 15th Infantry Battalion.

 

He was wounded in the left lung at Gallipoli and admitted to the Military Hospital Malta and was then transferred to King Georges Hospital London England.

He died 29th December 1915 at sea on board hospital ship “Star of England” which was en route to Australia of cerebro spinal meningitis.

He is commemorated on the Lone Pine Memorial, Gallipoli, Turkey.
