Harris George Albert

 

 

Born Hagley the son of Thomas and Mary Louisa Harris a 33 year old labourer he listed his next of kin as his sister Ivy Harris of Carrick he enlisted Victoria and embarked with the 15th Battalion.  After receiving a bullet wound to the knee at Gallipoli he returned to Australia to recuperate.  He returned to duty with the 23rd Battalion with a new number being issued. On 12th May 1917 he was listed as missing in action in France. On the 17th December 1917 this was changed to Killed in action on the 3rd May 1917.
