Harrison, Ralph William
Born Melbourne Victoria but living at 35 Garfield Street Launceston with his mother Kathleen Edith Harrison when he enlisted a clerk he embarked Fremantle 19th April 1915 on board “HMAT Argyllshire” with the 12th Infantry Battalion. He was killed in action 6th April 1917 at Bullecourt and is commemorated on the Villers-Bretonneux Memorial, Villers-Bretonneux, Picardie, France.
Last week the Reverend Father Monahan had the sad duty of informing Mrs Harrison of 38 Galvin Street that her son Ralph William (Bill) had been killed in action between April the 6th and 10th. He enlisted January 1915 and has been on active service all through. He was the youngest volunteer that left Tasmania and was employed before enlisting by the Tasmanian Permanent Executors and left there to enter camp The Weekly Courier 10th May 1917
