Hart, Eric Albyn

 

 

Born 9th May 1890 Deloraine Tasmania to Nathaniel and Louisa Jane Hart (nee Abey) a storekeeper’s assistant who departed Melbourne 8th February 1916 on board “HMAT Warilda” with the 12th Infantry Battalion.

He was serving with the 52nd Battalion when he was killed in action 8th October 1916 and is commemorated in the Chester Farm Cemetery, Belgium.

Mr. and Mrs. N. Hart, of Deloraine have received the sad news that their elder son, Lance-Corporal Eric Albyn, was killed in action in France on October 8. He had cabled the previous day that he was safe and well. Mr. Hart's second son Lieutenant L.R. Hart (40th Battalion) is now on his way to England with reinforcements
