Harvey, Athol Kingston
Born 11th December1889 Bicheno Tasmania the son of William and Catherine Lydia Harvey (nee Kingston) a linesman who embarked Melbourne 22nd December 1914 on board “HMAT Ceramic” with the 15th Infantry Battalion. He died 3rd September 1916 at the 44th Casualty Clearing Station in France from shell wounds to the left arm and both legs and was buried in the Puchevillers British Cemetery, Puchevillers, Somme, France. Our Bicheno correspondent writes: - "Much regret was expressed throughout the district when it became known that Mr. and Mrs. W. Harvey of Bicheno had received news of the death of their only son, Signaller A. K. Harvey who was killed in France. Signaller Harvey left Tasmania with the 15th Battalion nearly two years ago and went through the Gallipoli campaign and was twice wounded, once seriously. After that he was for a short time at Suez Canal and was then sent on to France, where he met his death." The Mercury 11th October 1916
