Hawke Ernest 

 

 

 

 

Born 6th May 1882 Ringarooma the son of William and Johanna Hawke (nee Smillie) married to Annie Amiee Chilcott a teacher he enlisted New Zealand and served with the Canterbury Infantry Battalion. 

He died 1st May 1915 on the Gallipoli Peninsula and was buried in Walker’s Ridge Cemetery. 

His wife and children later returned to Tasmania
