Hawkesford, Horace

 

 

Born 27th December 1890 Hobart Tasmania the son of John George and Emily Amelia Hawkesford (nee Driscoll) married to Dorothea Forsyth he embarked 24th November 1917 with the Australian Service Corps Reinforcements.

 

He died 24th October 1918 from malaria and was buried in the Beirut British War Cemetery

HAWKESFORD.-In loving remembrance of my dear husband and daddy, Private Horace (Hock) Hawkesford, died on the 24th of October, from clinical malaria, at 32nd Clearing Hospital, Beirut, Palestine.

There is no death to the love that lives,

Or the faith which stands serene.
